The Frozen Trail update for ARC Raiders brought plenty of changes beyond what the patch notes spell out. One content creator rounded up 12 hidden mechanics that "nobody has shown you" — practical tricks ranging from saving teammates in an ice storm to soloing the frigate, dragging cargo with a grapple, and surviving falls without a scratch. For players who want to stay alive longer and farm resources faster, these tricks ultimately translate into steadier returns — whether you're collecting materials, finishing objectives, or building up ARC Raiders Coins.

One note: ARC Raiders currently has no official in-game currency, and player trading and token-related systems remain subject to official announcements. Any mention of "ARC Raiders Coins" here refers to the concept used in trading, exchange, or third-party platforms — always check official rules for the specifics.

1. Set Your Teammates on Fire to Stop Them Freezing

On Pandora Pass, when an ice storm starts freezing you, you can shoot friendly teammates with Incendiary Rounds to stop them from freezing to death. It's a lovely bit of attention to detail. Next time you're stuck in a storm with nowhere to go, and you've got incendiary rounds loaded, shoot your teammate — you're not betraying them, you're saving them.

2. Refresh Your Speed When Sprinting on Fumes Runs Dry

While using Sprinting on Fumes, you can refresh the effect by letting go of sprint and pressing it again. Given that the skill was recently nerfed, this is genuinely handy: you can grab a little speed boost now and then, making your character run that bit faster.

3. Solo the Fuel Cell with a Grapple Hook

That annoying fuel cell on Riptides that normally takes two people to lift into the room? With the Grapple Hook, you can do it alone. Place the fuel cell underneath you, grapple onto it, and start reeling it in. The same trick works for dragging carryables across any map — no need to waste the "jump while carrying" skill, since the grapple does the same job.

4. Cancel Fall Damage Entirely with the Tether Launcher

If a teammate wants to jump from a height with no safe way down, just shoot them with the Tether Launcher, then shoot something nearby — the fall damage is completely negated. In the video, Diggy 2 took absolutely zero fall damage. This is a lifesaver for teammates without a power descender, snap hook, or grapple hook.

5. Grapple Down from the Top of the Frigate

You can descend safely from the very top of the Frigate by grappling onto flying creatures like fireflies or hornets and slowly making your way down. If players are camping the exit waiting for you and your loot, this is a very handy escape. The grapple works at any height — but be careful, because some ARC units can fly through the grapple line and break it.

6. Solo the Frigate's Final Room

You can get into the last rooms of the Frigate and complete the final puzzle by yourself. While other players are pulling power cords elsewhere, you can use a snap hook or grapple to reach the end loot room, grab some really good loot, and finish the last stage of the puzzle. It's a little risky — the creator recommends practicing a couple of times with a grapple and a snap, since the snap makes the first drop faster and easier. As you get closer to the room, make sure your grapple line is getting shorter and shorter, or you'll fall. He tried it twice, got it on the third attempt, and has nailed it every time since.

7. Skip the Hydras in the Emperor Raid

When running the Emperor raid, skip every Hydra — the better loot is all at the end, and it saves a huge amount of time. For the first Hydra, use a snap hook, or if you're quick enough, just run past on the right-hand side. In the second area where two Hydras usually spawn, find a small white door and snap to it, then make your way out. The creator notes he still sees plenty of people fighting the Hydras — don't be one of them.

8. One-Shot a Bully with a Deadline

Many players think it takes two Deadlines to kill a Bully — it doesn't. With the right placement underneath the Bully's belly, one Deadline does the job. The creator's approach: bring a photoelectric cloak and some kind of stun item, stun the Bully first, use the cloak to get underneath, then plant the Deadline. Placement is everything — get into that little groove and you'll one-shot it every time. The Bully is a tanky ARC that eats a lot of resources, so don't waste Wolf Packs on it — four Wolf Packs for one ARC is a terrible trade.

9. Cancel Fall Damage with Tether Grenades (PvE Only)

Tether Grenades can also completely cancel fall damage — but they don't work on teammates. They only work in solo PvE lobbies, or on friendly players you meet in a lobby. The idea is similar to the Tether Launcher: when a player jumps from a height, throw the tether grenade at them, and the fall damage is negated.

10. Drag a Downed Teammate with the Tether Launcher

In trios, if one teammate is knocked, you can tether-launcher the downed teammate and then tether-launcher your other teammate — letting that second teammate drag the downed player to safety. The creator admits he had no third player to test this with, but insists it absolutely can be done.

11. Double Your Outpost Storage with Container Inception

In the Outpost, anything you've placed as storage — storage containers, the polished weapon rack, and so on — can itself be put into storage. For example, a weapon rack holding four weapons can be stored away without losing the weapons. This means you can put storage-capable items back into storage for double the capacity: a shelf holding 12 items, stored and replaced with another, gives you 24 slots total. Great for hoarders.

12. Incendiary Rounds + Smoke Grenade = Wallhacks

The bonus trick at the end: if you like running Incendiary Rounds on your Rattler, combine them with smoke grenades for what amounts to wallhacks. The creator confirmed it doesn't work in the shooting range, but it works extremely well against players — light someone up with incendiary rounds, pop smoke, and you'll see their burning silhouette through it. Chew them up, get your smoke off, and enjoy the free vision.

Final Thoughts: Details Decide Your Returns

These 12 hidden mechanics cover survival, movement, cargo handling, dungeon efficiency, and PvP. For casual players, mastering even three or five of them will noticeably improve efficiency and survival per match. For players chasing maximum resources, they mean less waste, faster objectives, and steadier stockpiles — all of which ultimately show up in your stash and in your ARC Raiders Coins-related trading position.

Keep in mind that mechanics can shift with patches, and some tricks have conditions — tether grenades don't work on teammates, flying ARC units can break your grapple line, and so on. Practice in low-risk situations first. The creator also invited viewers to share any hidden mechanics they've found in the comments, saying he loves deep-diving into this kind of stuff. Stay safe out there in the Frozen Trail — and may you extract alive and loaded.
