WoW Battle for Azeroth Pre-Patch is Now Live

By Shirley Huang2018-07-18

The next expansion of WoW is on the horizon. Battle for Azeroth is set to launch on Aug 14, but ahead of its release, Blizzard has rolled out a big pre-expansion patch yesterday. As you know, Pre-expansion patches are always some of the most exciting in the game. They not only drastically change up the classes, but also give players a chance to quest their ways up to the events of the expansion.

This Pre-patch sets the stage for the upcoming update and introduces a number of new features to the long-running MMO. Now mmogah.com would like to share the updated events with you.

The Battle for Azeroth pre-patch is now live, and Blizzard are making some exciting changes to the way players access to World of Warcraft. Starting today, new players can gain access to all wow content up through and including the Legion expansion simply by becoming a subscriber, and you no longer need to purchase the original wow base game. In addition, all existing wow subscribers have automatically been upgraded to Legion at no additional cost.

The Battle for Azeroth pre-patch brings more changes than usual as below.

1. War Mode, PVP Talents and more

War Mode tears down boundaries and server rule-set distinctions, allowing players on any realm to decide when they want to jump into a world PvP experience full of like-minded players in the ongoing battle between Horde and Alliance.

War Mode is coming for players trapped on PvP or PvE servers, letting everyone toggle world PvP on or off as long as he is in his faction’s capital city. Finally, there will be new quests for players to tackle each week leading up to Battle for Azeroth’s release.

War Mode can be enabled beginning at level 20 by visiting either Orgrimmar or Stormwind, depending upon your allegiance.

2. Legion PVP Post-season

Join in the PvP action and earn some new gears in time for the launch of Battle for Azeroth.

3. Classes changes

With the removal of the Legion Artifact traits, many of the classes have been drastically overhauled. Each class has been more or less overhauled will play identically to how they will on day one of Battle for Azeroth, which launches on Aug 14. The only thing players won’t have to play around is the Heart of Azeroth necklace and the Azerite gear traits that come with it.

There is quite a bit more to this patch than just class changes and quests, players can experience more before Battle for Azeroth’s release. There are new customization options for characters, the game’s second stat squish ever. The pre-patch will last just shy of a month before Battle for Azeroth releases, with new quests and scenarios releasing each week.

4. New Events in Teldrassil and Lordaeron

Beginning the week of July 24 and continuing for three weeks leading to the Battle for Azeroth’s release, experience the escalation of all-out war in Teldrassil, and later Lordaeron. A new chapter of the relentless conflict at the heart of the Warcraft saga is unfolding, and it’s time for you to take your place on the front lines!

5. New Character Customizations

The war with the Burning Legion has left orcs standing tall, a new posture option available to all orc player characters. Blood Elves have access to golden eyes, as well as a few new faces.

All of these new options are available at Barber Shops throughout Azeroth, and you can alter your character’s skin color while you’re there.

6. Legacy Loot Mode

Now, when you enter an instance at 11 levels or more above the maximum level of the content, Legacy Loot rules will be automatically enabled. Under Legacy Loot rules, drops will include a chance for all items that would drop for a full party or raid at the instance’s level.
