Madden 19: Antonio Brown Might Be the Cover Athlete

By Michel Z2018-07-18

Though it hasn't been officially announced, it seems pretty clear Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown is the cover boy for the standard edition of Madden 19. On Tuesday, Steelers Depot tweeted out an image of several Madden 19 covers on which Brown is portrayed as the cover athlete.

A subsequent, apparent misstep from an individual running the Electronic Arts’ Twitter help account all but confirmed it, according to a screenshot from Tuesday evening.

Interestingly, Brown is scheduled to appear Thursday on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and the late-night talk show has been previously utilized as a platform for the upcoming “Madden” cover athletes to discuss the honor.

What’s more, Brown recently became a first-time member of the exclusive “Madden 99 Club” due to his extremely rare and high ranking, even landing a pair of custom gold cleats from Nike in recognition. So him landing on the cover makes sense in that regard.

He is arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL. He's coming off his fifth straight season with at least 1,200 yards, 100 receptions, and eight touchdown catches.

It's unclear why EA hasn't announced Brown as the cover athlete, but perhaps it has something to do with a few unfortunate incidents–unrelated to Brown–leading up to this year's release. In any case, Brown looks to be the man and he's worthy of the distinction.

Madden 19 releases for PS4, Xbox One and PC on August 10, and MmoGah will add MUT coins for Madden 19 to our store as soon as possible, so please keep checking back for more Madden NFL news related to Madden 19 coins.
