New Season Schedule and Prediction

The 2017/18 Premier League season will kick off with Arsenal vs. Leicester this evening, and Liverpool’s vs. Watford on Saturday.

Top Premier League teams and their line-ups

Each Team’s line-up is very important for winning. If you want to master the styles of line-up, you can click this guide.

Arsenal

It would be almost entirely ridiculous to say the first game of the season is a must-win game. As you know, Football is almost entirely ridiculous. Whereas Spurs would like a good start, and Arsenal is the first one. The first three games are tough – Stoke, Liverpool and Chelsea, so home wins against Leicester, Bournemouth, and West Brom are almost non-negotiable.

Alexandre Lacazette should improve their attack, but the contract situations of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, as well as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, will linger like a storm cloud over the entire squad until sorted one way or another.

What are their line-up?

When Arsenal switched to 3-4-2-1 at the end of last season, it gave them a stability and balance they had lacked all season. It even helped them to famously beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final. Wenger played that way again in the Community Shield and he has no reason to change it for now.

3-4-2-1: Cech; Holding, Mertesacker, Koscielny; Bellerin, Xhaka, Ramsey, Kolasinac; Özil, Sanchez; Lacazette

Manchester United

Having lost the leading scorer (albeit the recovering Zlatan Ibrahimovic could yet return), manager Jose Mourinho has spent big on Romelu Lukaku. The pressure is on the Belgian to hit the ground running at Old Trafford, a place that saw far too many home league draws in 2016/17.

What are their line-up?

It seems that will depend on the game. Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, and once fit, Luke Shaw will vie for left-back; Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and new signing Victor Lindelof will contend to partner Bailly. Nemanja Matic has been signed to allow Pogba to express himself, but Mourinho still has Michael Carrick as a passing alternative and Marouane Fellaini if he wants to be more pragmatic if needed. Given Ander Herrera’s worth last term, a 4-3-3 accommodates new man Matic and lets Pogba play in that left hand midfield free role which he thrived in at Juventus.

Liverpool

Last season, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp dared supporters to dream again. A 6-1 thrashing of Watford early in November 2016 had Liverpool top of the Premier League table. By the time 2017 was ushered in, they were still just about in touch with leaders Chelsea, having defeated Manchester City on New Year's Eve.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have enhanced their options. They've built a bigger, better squad, even if huge question marks remain over the defense. This is a time to focus on the positives, not pick holes in the back four.

What are their line-up?

Last year, there was a huge reliance on Sadio Mane. This year, Mohamed Salah ensures there’s a threat on both flanks, with any one of Roberto Firmino - or Divock Origi, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Ings or Dominic Solanke - in the high octane front three. The Line-up is most likely 4-3-3.

Chelsea

22-year-old Tiemoue Bakayoko arrives as a highly rated defensive midfielder from Monaco, and takes Nemanja Matic’s place in the squad. Cesc Fabregas will start the season alongside N’Golo Kante, but if the Blues can’t afford the luxury of the Spaniard, the Frenchman will vie for contention quickly.

What are their line-up?

The rest of the side picks itself until further signings are made: skipper Gary Cahill alongside Cesar Azpilicueta and David Luiz, flanked by Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso, although Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are much needed re-enforcement given John Terry and Kurt Zouma’s exits. The Line-up is most likely 3-4-3.

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola’s tactical voodoo papered over the aging holes in Manchester City’s squad last season. Now, he has spent over $250 million on a goalkeeper, three fullbacks and yet another impish, creative midfielder to fill out a squad worthy of his managerial skill. The Spanish genius has no excuses, and has to guide his team to the league title.

What are their line-up?

To put it in perspective, whether you opt for 3-4-3, 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3, a startling array of talent will be squeezed out.
